Went to the Philippines last month was my first experience traveling to another country by plane. Fortunately, I was not the only participant who was sent to the Philippines. My five other friends also sent to the same country as me. There were three host universities for UNS, they were Technological Institute of Philipines (TIP), Tarlac Agricultural University, and Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU). We had different schedules for flight. There were 2 students who would send to Mariano Marcos State University, Zulfikar Ali from Physics Education Major and I, Diyah from English Education Major.

My friend Zulfikar Ali and I had to travel to the Philippines for 2 days. We did not take the direct flight from our hometown. We had 4 flights until we got Laoag City. It was a long journey by plane and we had to stay and sleepover at the airport to wait for the next flight. Our first route was Adi Soemarmo International Airport, Solo (SOC) – Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar (DPS). From Adi Soemarmo to Denpasar, it took 1,25-hour flight. We arrived in Denpasar at 12. 30 of Middle Indonesian Time Zone (WITA) January 18, while our next flight would be January 19 at 11.00. To wait for our next flight schedule, we decided to go around to find the tourism object near the airport. Finally, we went to the famous Kuta beach to enjoy the sunset.

It was a very beautiful world paradise. I could enjoy the waves smell, the foreigners crowded, and the good air at the beach. We took pictures one and another till the sun was set. After enjoying the sunset at the beach, we decided to sleep over in a homestay. We paid 80.000 Rupiah for one night. It was a cheap price I thought if it was compared with the other normal price for one night stay in a tourism object like Bali. We spent our time homestay before we had to go to the airport in the morning.

On January 19, my travel went outside Indonesia was started. My flight from Denpasar to Manila had to transit for about 1,5 hours in Kuala Lumpur. Unfortunately, I was not really fit when I had to travel by plane. In addition, when I was in a rush in Kuala Lumpur Airport to get the next terminal. Fortunately, we got our schedule and not being late to go to the gate. I got Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) at 11 p.m. It was almost the middle of the night and we had to move from terminal 1 to terminal 2. We got the terminal 2 by shuttle bus.

Sleeping over in terminal 2 was my only choice before having my next flight at 10.00 a.m on January 20. There were only two flight schedules going to Laoag International Airport for a day, at 10 a.m and 9 p.m. So, I had to wait until 10 a.m from 12 a.m I arrived there. I was very bored to wait for a long time. Yeah, it was okay since there was Jolie Bee which opens for 24 hours for whoever felt hungry there, included me. Thank you, Jolie Bee, hehehehe <3
